Last Friday, students in Years 9 to 12 shared a light breakfast and took part in round table discussions with STEAM professionals during 91pron's inaugural STEAM Careers Breakfast event.
Our keynote speaker, Rebecca Leith (Class of 2017), spoke about the challenges and successes achieved during her journey into STEM, as well as what an average day looked like for her. At present, Rebecca is a Science and Engineering undergraduate (Honours) at Monash University and Monash Nova Rover Team lead.
The event theme, Breaking the Glass Ceiling, celebrates 2022 as the UN International Year of Glass, which gave students the opportunity to explore the glass ceiling metaphor and promoted healthy discussions on why women are underrepresented in STEM careers.
